Backlink-tool Yahoo Site Explorer stopt ermee
Yahoo heeft aangekondigd dat een van de oudste en meest bekende SEO-tools, Yahoo Site Explorer, later dit jaar (vermoedelijk half september) op non-actief wordt gezet. Yahoo, dat samenwerkt met de zoekmachine Bing, verwijst webmasters als alternatief door naar Bing Webmaster Tools.
Het nieuws is bevestigd door onder meer Hemant Minocha, Product Manager Yahoo Site Explorer, die op het officiële Yahoo! Search Blog zegt:
“Having two webmaster portals for a single source for organic results does not add enough value. Once organic results are transitioned to Bing in all the markets, we plan to shut down Yahoo! Site Explorerand Microsoft’s Webmaster Tools will be the source for Bing and Yahoo! webmaster site and analytics data.”
Welke linkdata wordt via Bing getoond?
Yahoo geeft dus aan dat Bing Webmaster Tools een goed alternatief biedt. Her en der wordt in SEO-land toch enigszins bedenkelijk gekeken, want zal Microsoft dezelfde gedetailleerde linkdata (m.b.t. concurrentie) gaan aanbieden als de ‘search-engine based YSE’?
Yahoo zegt hierover:
“The Bing Webmaster Center team has been actively adding new features over the past few months, including detailed traffic statistics and a new inbound links feature. Microsoft is also committed to build analytic reports that include Yahoo! search usage.”
